The name Karys Layne is a heartfelt tribute to the grandmothers Sheri’s children never had the chance to meet. Honouring their memory became the foundation of the brand—an intention woven into every candle.
After years of experimenting and refining her craft, Sheri launched Karys Layne Candles in 2017. Just days later, her world changed forever when she became a young widow to a Fallen RCMP Officer. In the midst of grief, Sheri returned to her artistic roots—painting, designing, and quietly perfecting candle recipes once again. Creativity became part of her healing, guiding her toward a new chapter. Eventually, she chose to step away from her teaching career and devote herself fully to building the company she had dreamed of.
Today, Sheri is an ambassador for Wounded Warriors Canada and a member of their Surviving Spouse Program. She works alongside first responders across the country, sharing her family’s story and advocating for mental health with the hope of helping remove the stigma that so often surrounds it.
Karys Layne Candles is more than a brand—it is a reflection of resilience, transformation, and the beauty that can emerge through healing. Each candle is meant to be lit with intention, inviting you to pause, breathe, and reconnect with yourself.
